Cusco
Most of our stay in Peru was within a few miles of Cusco, or Cuzco, both spellings seem to be used. Cusco is a city of about 300,000 and is at an elevation  of about 11,000 feet.

While there we explored Cusco; shopping, visiting an Internet Cafe, eating delicious ice cream, discovered a restaurant
with good food and entertainment,  walking through the parks with the beautiful flowers, even a casino, and always very watchful for the cars while crossing streets.  As always, we enjoyed our contact with the people.  Well, maybe there were a few to many selling souvenirs, but even they added a smile or three.

In the area are several temples, fortresses, markets, Urubamba
River Valley, Sacred Valley and more that you will see on other links.
