Pisa

Pisa, Italy
June 1977

We spent a few hours in Pisa.  They were working on the Leaning Tower, thus we could only observe from afar.  We looked at the tower, entered the Doumo,  Bapistry and the  Memorial Hall.

There was a lot of interior work going on in the Memorial Hall. I thought it was destined to be the most interesting of the buildings.   I remember it as  a WWII memorial, but now I  cannot locate any information .  Maybe a name change, or a memory lapse.

We left Pisa and headed for England via the Chunnel.  On the way, we went to the start of the cable car ride at Mt. Blanc, but were doomed for disappointment. There was a fog layer and no hope of it clearing in the next few days.  This is something we really wanted to so, but one cannot have everything.

As of this moment I have not located our pictures from from our drive to England, thus this is the last chapter of Europe 1997.  We spent about 10 days in England before heading back to Ohio,
