We liked walking in the pine woods, they had a wonderful smell. Walking up and down the many stairs was fun and a challenge for the kids, but not so fun if you were carrying suitcases or groceries. The beach was close to the cottage, but was a long walk to prevent erosion on the steep sand dunes. We walked in the woods to bury our trash, not something we would do today. Once Kathleen and I arrived at Winnetaska in the dark and Richard got temporarily lost in the woods, it was not fun!"
